Hydrogen

Hydrogen can be used in a wide variety of applications today and its use is likely to increase greatly over the coming year.

Hydrogen is needed in oil refineries to meet modern product specifications.

Hydrogen is needed as a feedstock for fuel cells. In many areas of the world, concerns about global warming have lead to the planned use of hydrogen as a fuel for transportation or as a substitute for coal, or oil in other traditional energy applications.

Hydrogen can be produced by several methods including:

  1. Gasification of natural gas, wastes, coal, or oil.

  2. Steam Methane Reforming of natural gas or other hydrocarbon.

  3. Electrolysis of water using electricity. (possibly combined with wind to produce a “zero CO2” system)
BQ Energy has experience with all hydrogen applications, with the manufacture of hydrogen from any of the three popular routes, and with the safe and reliable handling of the product. Safety is important to all BQ Energy endeavors, but particularly hydrogen. Although the material is very clean, it is not easy to store, and is very combustible. Planning of all aspects of its manufacture, handling, transport, is critical.
