Literally defined “Cogeneration” is the manufacture of two things at the same time. In most cases, this means the generation of electricity and heat from natural gas. Such a system often results in far greater efficiency than would be required to generate the two products separately.
BQ Energy has extensive experience in the development of cogeneration projects at industrial sites. We typically focus on facilities such as oil, steel, or heavy industry complexes. These sites require a careful approach that involves a careful analysis of actual energy usage and design of equipment and procedures which allow for operational flexibility as well as efficiency and reliability.
BQ Energy normally recommends a staged approach to project development which considers all aspects of a project in parallel. Such an approach becomes more important for more complex projects, and often the approach uncovers energy uses and needs that change a project scope from the initial concept. The staged forces such communication of issues early where the project scope can be modified more cost effectively.
