There is a vast body of publicly available information available to those who wish to learn more about gasification and IGCC:
  1. Click here for a downloadable PDF showing the IGCC plants built during 1984-2005.

  2. The largest collection of public information is available from The Gasification Technology Council at www.gasification.org.

  3. The most complete technical reference available is "Gasification", by Chris Higman and Maarten van der Burgt, copyright 2003, Elsevier Science (USA), 391 pages. Additional information and book updates are available at the companion website

    http://www.higman.de/gasification/index.htm.

  4. Gasification is a commercially proven, widely deployed technology, and has been in commercial use for many years. A listing of gasification plants in the world as of 1999, is provided in the DOE NETL publication "Gasification-Worldwide Use and Acceptance". The link for this brochure is

  5. Despite what you may hear from others, syngas in gas turbines has a long and successful operating history. One of the most complete listings of this experience is available from General Electric's Energy division. A brochure providing a very good summary of the syngas experience and also the IGCC application history in refineries (an excellent match for improving refinery profitability) is available at
